The Process
The process starts when you contact Stanford Painting for a free estimate.  To prepare the estimate, a Stanford Painting representative will need to perform a site walkthrough during a time that is convenient for you.  Depending upon the job, exterior walkthroughs can be handled solely by our representative.

Shortly after the site walkthrough, you will receive a comprehensive written estimate from us in the mail.  Unlike other painting services, the estimate you receive from Stanford Painting is FIRM.  After signing the estimate, we will schedule a start date for your painting project and give you a ballpark project length.  Rest assured that once we start your painting project, it does not get interrupted for new business.  In addition, Stanford Painting will be glad to perform a complimentary color consultation prior to your project start date.

The painting project itself starts with an exclusive 9-step surface prep, followed by a high quality 2 coat finish, extensive site cleanup, and post-painting inspection by a Stanford Painting Supervisor, as detailed below.

Stanford Painting’s Exclusive 9-Step Surface Prep

  1. Treat mildewed areas with diluted chlorine solution.
  2. Pressure wash entire structure (exterior) / wash kitchen and bathroom walls with TSP as needed (interior).
  3. Remove all flaking paint (hand scrape, heat gun, chemical stripper).
  4. Power sand and hand sand as needed for superior adhesion.
  5. Apply Primer to all exposed substrates (specific primer on wood /stucco / metal).
  6. Spackle holes and cracks as needed.
  7. Caulk gaps and openings where appropriate (high-grade elastomeric caulking).
  8. Re-glaze broken or cracked window putty as needed.
  9. Repair stucco cracks with high-grade elastomeric patching compound (exterior) / patch holes and cracks in drywall or plaster (interior).

High Quality 2 Coat Paint Finish

Stanford Painting uses only quality paint from suppliers like Kelly-Moore, Pratt & Lambert, and Benjamin Moore.  Applied by brush, roller or state-of-the-art paint sprayers, our 2 coat application insures years of lasting results.

Extensive Site Cleanup

At the end of each workday and again after your painting project is complete, Stanford Painting performs a site cleanup.  Your property will be thoroughly cleaned of all paint, tape and masking material.

Post-Painting Inspection

A Stanford Painting supervisor performs a detailed inspection of your newly finished painting project and is available any time after project completion for your questions.  We back our results with a 5 year warranty and encourage your feedback on our service at anytime.
